Today is another online session via UOG Moodle that in which we were to discuss about the importance of Descriptive Narration. Description and Narration are among the correlative elements that moves through time (narrative) and space (descriptive).
Narrative is an account of an incident or series of incidents that make up a complete and significant action that involves a situation, conflict, struggle, outcome and meaning.(102) When relating to the experience in time order, verb tenses are significant in which they must indicate appropriate time period--
e.g.=Past: He walked into the classroom. -
Present: He walks into the classroom.
Descriptive is the use of words to represent the appearance or nature of something. (105) In other words, detail is considerably substantial in communicating with your reader/audience. Relatively, objective description presents the subject clearly and directly as it exists outside the realm of emotions.(105) On the other hand, subjective description is concerned with clarity and it may be direct, but it conveys a feeling about the subject and sets a mood while making a point.
